Rescued animals

The center has existed for 10 years and has supported more than 2,000 animals. Ecuador is one of the countries with the highest biodiversity per square kilometre.

The center collects all species of wildlife. In fact , there are, in the " Nuestra Fauna " center, 4 species of monkeys ( howler monkeys, two types of capuchin monkey species and spider monkeys ), cats ( ocelot, jaguarundi ... ), sloths, various species of parrots, birds of prey, owls, etc. There are also several species of reptiles (boas and other snakes , caimans, turtles) and several species such as wild pigs, deer, squirrels and many more!

All these species are native to the Pacific coast and live in different national parks and reserves which are located on Ecuadorian coast.

We also get a lot of animals originating in Amazonia, mainly monkeys, birds and turtles. Members make regular trips to the Amazon and to this center, with the help of the Ministry of Environment to send animals to other centers in the Amazon, and conversely to recover animals from these centers who crossed the country in the hands of traffickers.
Animal traffickiing reprensents several million euros each year.

The captivity of wild animals often leads to several adverse consequences ...

  •  The abuse, which will create psychological damage

  •  Poor nutrition, because of information gaps and eating habits of the species;.

  •  The refusal of reproduction leads to the extinction of this species

  • The zoonosis diseases which are transmitted between wildlife, domestic, and humans, which can become epidemics
